Occasionally, a person may be interested in correcting only a minor orthodontic concern without undergoing comprehensive care. When this type of treatment is performed, it is referred to as limited care.

The treatment time for limited care cases is generally quite short, often just a few months.

Candidates for Limited Care

The most common indications for limited care are cases in which comprehensive orthodontic treatment was previously performed, but retainers were not worn and relapse has taken place. Other indications include situations in which there are time restraints for completing care.
